【摘要】:Thetensileandimpactproperties,theweldability,andthecorrosionresistanceofiron-chromium-nickelalloycastingsmaybeinfluencedbeneficiallyordetrimentallybytheratiooftheamountofferritetotheamountofausteniteinthemicrostructure.Theferritecontentmaybelimitedbypurchaseorderrequirementsorbythedesignconstructioncodesgoverningtheequipmentinwhichthecastingswillbeused.Thequantityofferriteinthestructureisfundamentallyafunctionofthechemicalcompositionofthealloyanditsthermalhistory.Becauseofsegregation,thechemicalcomposition,and,therefore,theferritecontent,maydifferfrompointtopointonacasting.Determinationoftheferritecontentbyanyoftheproceduresdescribedinthefollowingpracticeissubjecttovaryingdegreesofimprecisionwhichmustberecognizedinsettingrealisticlimitsontherangeofferritecontentspecified.Sourcesoferrorincludethefollowing:InDeterminationsfromChemicalComposition8212;Deviationsfromtheactualquantityofeachelementpresentinanalloybecauseofchemicalanalysisvariance,althoughpossiblyminorineachcase,canresultinsubstantialdifferenceintheratiooftotalferrite-promotingtototalaustenite-promotingelements.Therefore,theprecisionoftheferritecontentestimatedfromchemicalcompositiondependsontheaccuracyofthechemicalanalysisprocedure.InDeterminationsfromMagneticResponse8212;Phasesotherthanferriteandaustenitemaybeformedatcertaintemperaturesandpersistatroomtemperature.Thesemaysoalterthemagneticresponseofthealloythattheindicatedferritecontentisquitedifferentfromthatofthesamechemicalcompositionthathasundergonedifferentthermaltreatment.Also,becausethemagnetsorprobesofthevariousmeasuringinstrumentsaresmall,differentdegreesofsurfaceroughnessorsurfacecurvaturewillvarythemagneticlinkagewiththematerialbeingmeasured.InDeterminationsfromMetallographicExamination8212;Metallographicpointcountestimatesofferritepercentagemayvarywiththeetchingtechniqueusedforidentificationoftheferritephaseandwiththenumberofgridpointschosenfortheexamination,asexplainedinTestMethodE562.Theestimationofferritepercentbychemicalcompositionoffersthemostusefulandmostcommonmethodofferritecontrolduringmeltingofthemetal.Formostaccurateestimateofferritepercent,aquantitativemetallographicmethodshouldbeused.1.1Thispracticecoversproceduresanddefinitionsforestimatingferritecontentincertaingradesofausteniticiron-chromium-nickelalloycastingsthathavecompositionsbalancedtocreatetheformationofferriteasasecondphaseinamountscontrolledtobewithinspecifiedlimits.Methodsaredescribedforestimatingferritecontentbychemical,magnetic,andmetallographicmeans.1.2Thegradescoveredbythispracticeare:CF-3,CF-3A,CF-8,CF-8A,CF-3M,CF-3MA,CF-8M,CF-8C,CG-8M,andCH-10.1.3Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththepractice.1.3.1Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuser......
