【摘要】:Waxcoatingsareappliedtocorrugatedboardtoprovideabetterbarrieragainstmoistureorotheragentsortoprovideimprovedappearanceorabrasionresistance.Theseperformancefeaturesareinfluencedbytheamountofwaxpresentonthesurface.Duringmostcoatingoperations,themajorportionofthewaxappliedwillcongealonthesurface,whileaminorproportionwillmigrateintoandbecomeembeddedinthefibersofthefacing.Thismethodmeasuresonlytheportiononthesurface.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationoftheweightofwaxthatispresentasacoatingonthesurfaceofcorrugatedboard.Thismethodisapplicabletoboardtowhichwaxhasbeenappliedbycurtaincoating,rollcoating,orothermethods;thesubstrateboardmayormaynotcontainimpregnating(saturating)waxwithinitsstructure.Note1-Ifitisknownthatthespecimenhascoatingwaxonly,withnointernalsaturatingwax,thetotalcoatingwaxappliedmaybedeterminedbyTestMethodD3344.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
